Shot in Longyearbyen, Svalbard - Norway

There's no dark here right now, it's 24 hours of afternoon (like 5PM) light. At midnight I went walking and found the huge trash yard where all trash from the city is bagged, shrink wrapped and stored during the winter until the seas thaw and boats can remove it.

Polar bear warnings are everywhere around town and many of the residents casually walk around with rifles over their shoulders. At the trash storage (and I suppose recycling too) I found this huge pile of spent shells (defensive target practice?), possibly for recycling - but someone before me maybe - lost a grip when they happened upon this . . . found: a grey suede man's work grip.

Oslo, Norway

They're losing a grip in Norway too - as we walked past the Henrik Ibsen Museum (near the American Embassy) in Oslo - we found a thick black rubberized right hand, man's glove.
