Today I walked along the border fence that stretches between San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico. This newest part (in Imperial Beach) is made only of concrete pillars with a thin strip of steel connecting the tops.
Someone lost a grip (a very old used and worn brown knit with black plastic grip bumps) in the southern most city of South America. Down here in Tierra del Fuego penguins rule the barren islands off the coast, they're painted on buildings and adults in penguin costumes approach shoppers outside souvenir shops (selling glass, wooden, plastic and paper penguins, of course).
Kearny Mesa: in a huge lot that was possibly going to be condo's 5 months ago - I've returned to Southern California to find more empty, bare lots that seem to have no buildings planned now - a 'G Tech/Maxi Tech' - size L, lost grip (left) - fake black suede with a grey knit wrist, excellent condition, lying on a flattened cigarette filter . . .
In Abbeville, Louisiana: Run over and totally flattened in a Louisiana bayou parking lot - a leftie, light orange canvas work glove with suede trim around the palm and finger tips.
On the Blue Ridge Parkway in VA (at the Farm Museum), I found a lost grip today - a very worn fleece glove (left) - a man's size with holes in the finger tips.
Several hours later at Crabtree Falls - just next to the parking lot in the leaves, another left - a leather work glove with a tiny red bead on the pull tie at the wrist.
